Red Sox baseball player David Ortiz can breathe a little easier now that he’s settled a lawsuit with Jay-Z over his 40/40 club name.

As previously reported Hov took the MLB star to court for copyright infringement after he opened his Forty/Forty club in the Dominican Republic.

According to Jay and his business partner Juan Perez, the similar names caused “marketplace confusion and damage” and Ortiz had full knowledge of their previously opened establishments.

Now Perez and Hov have reportedly settled with Ortiz who agreed to change the name of his Forty/Forty club and take down his fortyforty.net website.

Jay and Perez were suing for $5 million.

The pair own clubs in New York City, Atlantic City and Las Vegas and have plans to open further venues in Tokyo and Macau.
