Tuesday, June 29th, 2010As Lauryn Hill has stepped out of hiding, the former member of The Fugees reveals where she has been and why she decided to step away from music.
Ever since placing herself in exile, many have only wondered what was going on in her mind and appearances only made fans scratch their heads in disbelief of the woman before them.
During an interview with NPRMusic, Ms. Hill finally sets the record straight on why she stepped away when she could have ruled Hip-Hop.
"...partly, the support system that I needed was not necessarily in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it."

Mexican Musician Sergio "El Shaka" Vega Killed After Debunking Rumors Of Death
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010Hours after completing an interview confirming his wellbeing, famed Mexican musician and singer Sergio "El Shaka" Vega was shot and killed while on his way to a performance.
Eerily, Vega spent several hours prior to his death reassuring fans that rampant rumors of his demise hours earlier were false.
According to published reports, Vega was gunned down by unknown assailants while driving his red Cadillac, according to reports. With shots to the head and chest, Vega -- had been making his way to Sinola state, where he'd been scheduled to perform -- lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Stop Snitching DVD Creator Sentenced To 20 Years For Creating DVDs & Witness Intimidation
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010“Skinny Suge”, the man who became infamous for single handedly ushering in the ‘Stop Snitching' movement, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for creating the underground DVDs.
According to published reports, Ronnie Thomas and 8 others who participated in the creation of the DVD were charged with witness intimidation among other charges.
Police state that the removal of Thomas and others will hopefully send a message to community that not only is crime not tolerated, but the intimidation of the community isn't either.
According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III, the intent of the "Stop Snitching" videos was to "try to discourage people from making their neighborhoods safer and to intimidate (more...)
Man Dies In Prison After Pleading For Help For Over 9 Days
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010A federal prison is currently being investigated by the U.S. Justice Department after an inmate died of a ruptured spleen after complaining about the pain for nine days.
According to published reports, Adam Montoya died after pleading with guards for nine days to be taken to a doctor.
After an autopsy, the coroner found that the 26-year-old inmate not only suffered from hepatitis, but cancer and HIV as well. Ultimately it was ruled that cancer was the cause of death causing his spleen to burst and Montoya bled to death internally.
