Tuesday, July 13th, 2010Linebacker Lawrence Taylor has pleaded not guilty to an indictment that alleges him of having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
The former NFL star allegedly paid $300 to the girl for their encounter in May. Taylor pleaded not guilty through his lawyer to third-degree rape, patronizing a prostitute, sexual abuse and endangering a child.
Earlier, when a reporter asked outside court if he was guilty, Taylor responded,
"Grow up."
Taylor was arrested May 6, after the girl's uncle contacted New York City police. He is facing charges that can lock him up for four years with no bail.
A potential witness is a 23-year-old woman who told investigators that she heard the girl say,
"It was weird. ... We didn't even have sex."
Mashonda Talks Divorce From Swizz Beatz, Says She Will Not Attend His Wedding To Alicia Keys
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010The ex-wife of Swizz Beatz is speaking on her former spouse and his upcoming nuptials to Alicia Keys.
As previously reported Mashonda and Swizz Beatz were officially divorced in May after years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences.
Soon after Swizzy and Alicia Keys announced that they were expecting their first child and plan to marry later this year.

Man Gets 24 Years For Forcing Africans To Braid Hair In Salons
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010A New Jersey man was sentenced to 24 years in prison after prosecutors say he smuggled African women into the country and forced them to braid hair for hours with no pay.
Lassissi Afolabi, a native of Togo, was also ordered to pay his victims $3.9 million in restitution along with the prison sentence.
As previously reported he pleaded guilty last August to conspiring with his ex-wife and others to commit forced labor in Newark and East Orange.
He also pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse and traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
Prosecutors say Afolabi took at least 20 women from Africa using fake Visas and forced them to work 14 to 20 hours seven days a week.
The women also lived with Afolabi and his ex-wife and were not allowed to make friends, learn English or travel alone. If any of the women disobeyed they were brutally beaten and sexually abused.
The ring was said to be headed by Afolabi's ex-wife, Akouavi Kpade Afolabi who prosecutors say beat the girls and performed voodoo rituals on them to make them think they'd go crazy if they escaped.
She is still awaiting sentencing.
MLB Stars To Boycott All-Star Game
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010Many MLB stars are planning to boycott next year's MLB All-Star Events.
Yovani Gallardo has chosen to Boycott the MLB All-Star Game next year due to immigration laws.
"If the game is in Arizona, I will totally boycott,"the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher said Monday.
As Pheonix plans to host Baseball's big night a year from now, other major league players like Kansas City reliever Joakim Soria, who leads the majors with 25 saves, say they have other plans. Jose Valverde has also said he can see himself steering clear, too. Toronto outfielder Jose Bautista says,
"It's a really delicate issue," hopefully, there are some changes in the law before then. We have to back up our Latin communities,”
About three dozen protesters held signs Monday a block from the ceremony, and one demonstrator said they had over 100,000 petitions asking Commissioner Bud Selig to move the 2011 All-Star game out of Arizona.
Selig has not spoken directly on the subject and did not take questions during the Monday open ceremonies of the All-Star event.

New Mel Gibson Tape Catches Him With More Racial Slurs
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010Mel Gibson has a new tape with more racial slurs after a 3rd voice mail was discovered.
Mel Gibson refers to a Latino worker as a “wetback" during an argument with his ex Oksana Grigorieva.
According to the audio at Radaroline.com, the six-minute recording hears an alleged Gibson involved in a bitter argument with his ex and the mother of his 8 month old daughter.
As previously reported, this is not the first audio tape of Mel Gibson with racial slurs, in the first tape he refers to his wife getting “raped by a gang of N*ggers,” as well as (more...)
The President And COO Of Johnson Publishing Resigns
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010Anne Sempowski, the president and chief operating officer of Johnson Publishing Co., the publisher of Ebony and JET magazines, has resigned.
Anne told reps in a statement that she wants to spend more time with her family and will join her husband in a business-consulting venture.
Ward was initially hired in 2007 as president and COO of Fashion Fair, the cosmetics division. She was then appointed as both the president and COO of Johnson Publishing Company Inc. a year later. She managed both (more...)
