Brooklyn born rapper/thespian Mos Def will be making his way back to the stage proving his theatrical chops once again in John Guare’s stage play, “A Free Man of Color.”

The play, starring Jeffrey Wright (Cadillac Records, Quantum of Solace) as Jacques Cornet, depicts the challenges a wealthy black man in New Orleans faces during pre and post Louisiana Purchase.

Mos and Wright also shared the stage in the well received Tony Award winning play Top Dog/Underdog in 2002.

‘A Free Man of Color,’ will also star, Veanne Cox, Nicole Beharie, Teyonah Parris, David Emerson Toney and Peter Bartlett and is being directed by Tony Award winner, George C. Wolf.

Mos most recently flexed his acting muscle on Yo Gabba Gabba!, House M.D, Next Day Air and Cadillac Records starring Rock N Roll pioneer Chuck Berry.

Opening night for the play is November 18.
