North Carolina rapper Petey Pablo is set to surrender to authorities after trying to bring a handgun on a plane on 9/11.

TMZ reports that Pablo, real name Moses Barrett III, was indicted by a grand jury last week after security found a stolen 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun in his carry-on bag and ammunition on September 11, 2010.

As previously reported, Barrett was arrested at the Raleigh-Durham airport trying to catch a flight to L.A. for the MTV Video Music Awards.

While the rapper claims that he was unaware that the pistol was in his bag, the grand jury claims Pablo knew he was in possession of a “concealed dangerous weapon that was and would have been accessible to him in flight.”

The grand jury has charged Pablo with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take a gun onto an airplane.

A rep for Pablo tells TMZ that he will turn himself in to police today.
