The trailer for “Winnie” has been released detailing the life of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela played by Jennifer Hudson.

As previously reported, the film is directed by Darrell J. Roodt , from a script based on the Anne Marie du Preez Bezdrobbiography Winnie Mandela: A Life.

Winnie Mandela previously threatened legal action over the release of the film, saying that she was “never approached for consent” on the movie that will detail her controversial life  from her marriage to Nelson Mandela to her conviction for the kidnapping of 14-year-old Stompie Moeketsi.

Winnie also previously spoke out against a non-South African playing her in the film.

    Terrence Howard as Mandela is a Big Fail! It's like casting Tony Soprano to play George Washington. It just doesn't work and a little insulting. Don't think I'll be going to see this.

    This is hilarious..this story is soooo contradictory to the real story...Jus frm this trailer alone, there r at least 5 errors..One, Winnie's dad didn't approve of Mandela..he was a womanizer nd WAYYY older than Winnie...dnt even have energy for the rest..dnt let me get started on the accents and "nappifying" of Terrence Howard's hair//LMAO

    lmAO!! this is the most ridiculous pairing in recent cinematic history. They have absolutely no chemistry. Terrence is an excellent actor in his own right and Jhud is...a great singer but together? Nah. I'll wait and netflix/on demand/HBO/Bootleg the b.itsh, NEXT!

    Interesting. I guess *****ody involved with the production felt the need to actually study their subjects or the topic before making the movie (the accents? The glaringly obvious inconsistencies with the actual story already being evident in a 3 minute plot)?, but interesting nonetheless.
