Kobe Bryant Blasted By Human Rights Org Over Gay Slur

Lakers star Kobe Bryant is in hot water with one human rights group after appearing to spew a homophobic slur towards a ref during last night’s win against San Antonio.

Last night versus the Spurs, all-star guard Kobe Bryant was hit with his 15th technical foul on the season. After begrudgingly walking to the bench, the Bryant was caught on camera mouthing what appeared to be the words, “Fawking f*ggot,” toward an on-court official

Well, the group Human Rights Campaign took exceptional offense to Bryant’s outburst and gave this statement to TMZ about their distaste for the future Hall of Famer’s choice of words.

“What a disgrace for Kobe Bryant to use such horribly offensive and distasteful language, especially when millions of people are watching. Hopefully Mr. Bryant will recognize that as a person with such fame and influence, the use of such language not only offends millions of LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] people around the world, but also perpetuates a culture of discrimination and hate that all of us, most notably Mr. Bryant, should be working to eradicate.”

The Human Rights Campaign stakes claim as the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, with over 750,000 members nationwide.
