Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Kem And Miguel Added To Essence Music Festival
The 2011 Essence Music Festival is continuing to expand now that Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Kem and Miguel have been added to this year's lineup.
As previously reported Kanye West, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and Trey Songz are set to take over the fest taking place July 1, 2 and 3 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Additionally Boyz II Men, Charlie Wilson, Fantasia, Stephanie Mills, George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic, Macy Gray, Mavis Staples, Tank, Mint Condition, Kelly Price, Alexander O'Neal & Cherrelle are also set to take the stage.
Now for this year's fest the “Roots of R&B” will be celebrated with help from Hudson, Khan, Kem, Miguel, Naughty By Nature, Doug E. Fresh, Marsha Ambrosius, Mavis Staples, Eric Benet, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson and the reunion of New Edition.
Speaking on the latest additions to this year's lineup, Michelle Ebanks, President, ESSENCE Communications Inc. released a statement saying,
