Kobe Bryant Says He Used To Beat Up Kids Who Teased Gays in School

Kobe Bryant is still playing damage control following his use of a gay slur during a NBA game last week.

ESPN’s Lisa Salters reported that in a recent interview with Bryant, the NBA vet learned from is mistake, and looked to clear an anti-gay rumors by saying:

“I used to beat up a lot of kids even in high school who used to tease my friends because they were gay, or because they were black, or because they were Jewish, or because they were yellow, or because they were whatever.”

Salters also reports that in response to critics of Bryant’s apology, the Lakers star said, “For people who don’t think my apology is sincere, they don’t know me. This isn’t over for me. I really plan to do more. What I said was ignorant and I really didn’t realize what I was saying.”

If anyone remembers the punch Kobe took from Chris Childs some years back, it’s hard to picture Bryant beating up anyone, but we’ll take his word for it.

Bryant was fined $100,00 by the NBA for his “offensive and inexcusable” comments.
