Prodigy Says He Almost Fought Jay-Z After Summer Jam
Prodigy Claimed He Almost Fought Jay-Z After Summer Jam
Prodigy has been on a rampage to promote his new book, My Infamous Life.
First the New York rapper claimed Capone is a snitch during his interview with Power 105.1 last week. Now the Mobb Deep member claims he was closing to boxing with the God MC.
During a book signing in Washington, D.C. with author/professor Michael Eric Dyson, Prodigy says he almost got into a fight with Jay-Z outside of a Justin's restaurant in N.Y, just months after Jay-Z dissed him at HOT97's Summer Jam concert in 2001.
“Sometime after that little statement I made about him, Jay-Z put out the song called ‘The Takeover' and he did the Summer Jam. Had my picture up when I was a little kid at my grandmother's dance school. I thought I was Michael Jackson. Aight, so cool. That was funny to me. I didn't even take offense to that. That was just funny to me. My whole problem was a whole ‘nother thing,” Prodigy said.
Prodigy continued to recall the situation at Justin's saying:
“We surrounded the front door so he couldn't get out without seeing us. So I'm standing there waiting to see him and finally he comes from back somewhere. Him and Jermaine Dupri come walking. Jermaine sees us and he was out. Jay's standing there with two bodyguards approaching us…He puts his hand out, like this, and comes walking up to me like this to shake my hand. So I'm looking at him like I could just really treat him like a rag dog right now like for real. So I shook his hand, ‘What's up man?' He was like ‘Yo listen, it ain't no beef. It's just music. Let's keep it just music. There's no problems son. I just wish you would have came and told me how you felt to my face instead of putting it in a magazine.' And I'm like ‘Alright cool, there ain't no beef. We can keep it just music.' And I had thought about it real quick. Cause I'm thinking about how I could just really overpower him right now with the security and all that.”
Jay-Z hasn't responded to Prodigy's claims, but if he did, they probably would go something like, "I got 99 problems, but Prodigy ain't one."

I don't respect this guy for trying to eat off of Jay and Keyshias plate. Stfu and sell your music out of your trunk.

KRS-One is and always has been nicknamed the God MC. Step yo' hip-hop history game up.
Isn't prodigy like 5'6? Jay is at LEAST 6 feet. This sounds like some bull.

You've clearly never met or seen Jay-Z in person. He's at least six feet - more like 6'1" or 6'"2.
Funny because years back Prodigy said that he walked up to Jay-Z in a resturant and then Jay was like no beef while laughing. Funny how the story keep changing by the same person.
This is why I always will respect Jay-Z. 1) men to go on blog sites and tell life stories about a problem you had with someone. 2) Jay-Z normally keeps those stories to himself no matter who the fault is. 3) Jay's story never changed when he did explain. Everyone from Jaz-o to Dame, the Sigel, Peedi Crak, has all came back and changed their story.
I know we like to hate on Jay but the thing is if Jay was lets say Memphis Bleek. Would anyone be saying anything about him? No. Everyone throws rocks at the throne. I applaud him for having the tough blood to be in the position and spotlight. He takes the good and bad. The good - successful business man, will be a billianoire, already is if you count his wife. The bad beef with idiots that can't stay out of jail or manage their own finances.
I could beleive this story... it's not implausible. Just because Prodigy is short means nothing. He's a street dude and street dudes of little stature who are in the life HAVE to have some fighting skills or at least have a dude or group of dudes that can fight for you. Jay Z never struck me as the rough and tumble type...tall guys can catch fade too. Just because a person is taller or heavier doesn't mean they are a shoo in to win in an altercation.
With all that being said, however, I don't know how true this story is. It could be complete fiction.
I like P, but dudes fresh outta jail talking ***** about other people. He need to focus on his own career and make good music. How many time we gotta hear about his almost fight with jigga man?
