HipHopWired caught up with pro skateboarder Terry Kennedy at the BET awards this weekend.
The ex-boyfriend of Angela Simmons spoke on a number of topics including the important role Hip-Hop plays in his sport.
“That's one thing I love about skateboarding, it's so many so different cultures. I grew up skating and all the music I heard was Hip-Hop....I always grew up off Hip-Hop and I love it. "
The pro skater also spoke on his love for fashion,
"It's just like basketball, you have to wear comfortable clothes so you can do what you have to do."

MC Lyte Talks New Position With The Recording Academy, The Grammys, Introduces New Artist

Hip-Hop Wired caught up with rap pioneer MC Lyte at the 2011 BET Awards this past weekend.
MC Lyte, who recently took a position with the Recording Academy, talked about her new role with the Grammys saying:
"For Hip-Hop, Urban Alternative, I really want to do a crash course on all of the things that the Grammy organization does outside of the awards. I think a lot of people just think it's about the show."
Along with her position at the Academy, Lyte is also Music Supervisor and Executive Vice President with independent label, Dubose Music Group, and she took a moment to introduce the label's new artist, J. Gunn.
