Irv Gotti Wants To Be Def Jam President

Irv Gotti hasn’t gone to see Ja Rule in prison yet because his flagship artist is still bouncing around to different cells, but he did talk to Sway about a spot he wants to be in and that’s the president’s seat at Def Jam.

A passionate Irv Gotti sat next to Method Man on MTV’s Rap Fix Live and spoke about his desire to take over the heralded hip-hop label but not just for his sake, for the good of the entire culture.

“Def Jam personifies the hip-hop culture,” said the Murder INC founder. “Def Jam hasn’t had a president since Jay-Z…listen if you don’t want to hire me the best man for the job, the man that would die for it. Put somebody in there because you’re not giving any sign or any indication that you care about my culture.”

Gotti credits Lyor Cohen, Julie Greenwald, Kevin Liles and everyone that played a part in Def Jam’s success over the years, but he feels that there is a void that the successful Cash Money just can’t fill.

Maybe there’s still a chance that he may get to hold the position as the head of the “home for the homeless,” but as of right now listen to Irv give distinct reasons why he’s the man for the job.
