Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt Allegedly Back With New Song "Home" [Listen/Download]
With the Odd Future collective becoming media sensations last year, much was made about the exclusion of the teenaged and talented Earl Sweatshirt. After some extensive media investigation from Complex last year, the prodigious Odd future rapper was tracked down to a boarding school in Samoa, which somewhat explained his AWOL status. Now it appears that Earl Sweatshirt is back with a new Twitter account [@earlxsweat] and has released a track called “Home” on Wednesday (February 8th) evening.
Following a tweet from OFWGKTA front man Tyler, The Creator that announced Sweatshirt's Twitter handle, a quick look at the newly created account revealed vague details. The inaugural tweet, “home..” leads off the account's timeline with the next message arriving a few hours later that read, “Ni**a need followers. give me 50,000 and i'll release this Shyte for everybody.”
Earl Sweatshirt then posted a cryptic snippet video on YouTube simply titled “Home” with the rapper reiterating his Twitter follower request—which he seemingly has accomplished after gaining 55,000 followers in just seven hours. Earl, born Thebe Kgositsile, released the entire track, which is loud and busy, but features the dexterous flow the rapper became noted for, at terrtlefer.com.
The account doesn't make any references towards Odd Future, nor has much been said about his connection to the crew now. Known jokesters, the whole thing could be one giant prank although hopeful fans are waiting with bated breath on Earl Sweatshirt to release the entire track leaked Wednesday night in its entirety.
This story is sure to develop in the coming days so be sure to check in with Hip-Hop Wired for updates. Download "Home" after the video.
