Good music continues to flow through the South by Southwest Festival and word in Austin is that the G.O.O.D Music compilation that is rumored to be coming out soon is all but finished. MTV News caught up with Mannie Fresh at the event, and the New Orleans producer, who is contributing beats to the album, says the diverse project is in its final stages.
“It's pretty close, I would say it's pretty close," he said. "Songs phenomenal, everything. It's an album that's all over the place, it's not just one thing. It's not just that you're gonna hear some Southern Hip-Hop or whatever. You're gonna hear everything."
The former Cash Money mainstay, who was rumored to be signing a production deal with G.O.O.D. in February, confirms that Yeezy offered to sign him after he impressed the G.O.O.D. Music CEO with some beats during a Watch The Throne tour stop earlier this year. He didn't reveal whether he inked a deal but he has since been included in the compilation project and says that the creativity that Kanye has assembled is motivating.
"The cool thing about G.O.O.D. Music is it's a bunch of great ideas and I'm one of those ideas," he continued. "[Kanye's] trying to find the most talented producers, most talented artists, put 'em all in a room and say, 'Go for it. Y'all energy, like whatever is creative to y'all.'"
