A new photo obtained by ABC News shows accused killer, George Zimmerman with blood gushing from his head, on the night he killed Trayvon Martin. The photo was allegedly taken to three minutes after the incident, and supports his claim of being attacked by the unarmed teenager.
Special prosecutor, Angela Corey viewed the photo prior to bringing second-degree murder charges against Zimmerman and still found probable cause to support her decision to take him into custody. The photo was conveniently released to the network early Friday (April 20), just before Zimmerman appeared in court for his bond hearing. While on the stand, the 28-year-old apologized to Martin's family stating that he was unaware of the high school student's age. "I did not know how old he was," he said. "I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. I did not know if he was armed or no." Martin has been depicted by Zimmerman as being the aggressor in the altercation, despite a witness hearing him screaming before being shot.
Zimmerman was granted release on $150,000 bail, a decision which the judge came to following testimony from the 28-year-old's his family members. According to his lawyer, Mike O'Mara, the former neighborhood watch volunteer will not get out jail for a couple of days, until he can come up with bail money.
