Mack Maine Explains Lil Wayne’s Snub From OKC Thunder Game
Lil Wayne and the Young Money crew were denied entry to Game 3 last night in Oklahoma City as the Thunder took on the San Antonio Spurs last night. “Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs,” Weezy tweeted just before the game kicked off. The honorable Rob Markman of MTV spoke with Young Money president, Mack Maine, and found out exactly what went awry.
“He finally just let me know, they not really tryin’ to sell tickets to him,” Mack Maine told MTV News after the playoff game ended. “They said they’ll give him some tickets on the front row behind, but they’re not really tryin’ to have him sittin’ courtside.”
To add insult to injury, Mack tells MTV that there would be no special treatment for the superstar MC and his crew. “Then they also sent a message back sayin’ the OKC policy was no special parking and no escort, so he gotta walk in like everybody else,” he explained. “Why would you actually want to cause pandemonium? That’s gonna make it harder for your security.” Mack added “we’re not no prima donnas, but that’s just common sense, for our safety and the safety of your building. We were basically just tryin’ to take our brother to the game.”
NBA Sixth man of the year and Thunder star later tweeted Lil Wayne after the game, offering him courtside seats to game 4 of the Western Conference Finals in Oklahoma City. The Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 102-82 last night to pull the series to 2-1 in favor of the Spurs.
