Bill O’Reilly Supports Racial Profiling [VIDEO]
Bill O’Reilly thinks that racial profiling is more helpful than harmful. The political pundit, appeared on Fox & Friends Tuesday (June 5) morning, where he defended New York’s “stop-and-frisk” policy, which the state’s governor is pushing lawmakers to amend. According to O’Reilly, the issue at hand has less to do with the state’s marijuana policy, which Gov. Andrew Cuomo says lacks “consistency and fairness,” and more to do with race.
“This is about racism. This is a racial story, not a drug story,” O’Reilly said. “Here in the city we have stop and frisk policy which has brought crime way down. The cops know who the wiseguys are, who the dealers are, who the punks are, and they know who the muggers are, and they try to get these guys on anything, it’s like getting Al Capone on tax evasion instead of murder” he explained. “That’s what drives crimes down, get them off the street.”
In his view, suspects are being sought after by authorities based on “criminal profiling,” not race. While he did make mention to those that have been unjustly pursued under the accordance with the policy, O’Reilly sees the actions as a “crime fighting technique” which—if adjusted—will raise the crime rate in the state of New York.
