Chief Keef has landed another major co-sign, this time in the form of T.I. The 16-year-old’s “I Don’t Like” single was remixed by Kanye West, effectively turning all eyes in his direction. With one record label after another clamoring to sign the young rapper, Keef chose Interscope Records as his new label home.

Now that he’s got a distribution deal, the sky is the limit for Keef, whom Tip says has special quality. “Chief Keef, I feel like he represents a part of America,” Tip told MTV News backstage at the annual Birthday Bash concert held in Atlanta over the weekend.

“He represents a part of the youth in America that ain’t really got a voice right now. We looking at ’em, and we’re seeing the results of their actions, but we ain’t really listening to ’em, and I think you gotta have a representative of each generation in order to understand what they dealing with.”

No word yet on when the Chicago rapper will drop his debut.
