Nas Says Azealia Banks Has “Incredible Star Power”

She may have a tumultuous relationship with rap, but Azealia Banks has caught the attention of one of the most notable MCs in the game: Nas.

In an interview with Rap-Up, God’s Son showered Banks with praise. “I f*** with that ‘212,’” he said. “She has incredible star power, you can see it already. I think we need that. To come across the total package in this game, you need more than just a hot 16 and not everybody is blessed with the total package. She has it.”

Aside from the Paper Magazine cover girl, Nas also had kind words for Meek Mill. The Philly rapper’s Dreamchaser 2 mixtape was the talk of Hip-Hop upon it’s release, and Nas has taken notice. “I got my eyes on him. He’s the next one to take this s*** over. I’m rooting for him,” he said. “There are no more street orators in the game, who are fresh off the block and can tell us currently what’s going on. So you gotta appreciate him. We have to support Meek Mill’s movement because he’s talking about real life and if we don’t support that, then what are we doin’?”

With his Life is Good album slated for a July 17 release, the summer will find Nas continuing his international tour. He wraps up his overseas run July 7, and has scheduled a handful of performance dates stateside.

Never heard her music but plan to listen especially since Nas like her. Meek Mill I’m not a fan of because I really don’t hear his music like that. But I do agree with Nas on the real rap situation. A lot of consumers support clowns but not the real ones :-(

I can’t wait until Nas’ cd drops, I’m buying it asap! Like J.Cole raps “damn, they don’t make them like you any more” Nas is a MY favorite male rapper :-)

She got a crazy swag, but she keeps the drama stirring… Oh well… looks like T.I. might have picked the wrong “Azealia/Azaela” to cosign!!
