Chief Keef Tells The Breakfast Club He Started Rapping Because Of His Mom [VIDEO]
After making his NYC debut at S.O.B.'s last night, Chief Keef hit The Breakfast Club this morning. The newly minted Interscope Records signee was super subdued (read: sleep) while Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy threw a fairly standard set of questions his way, but the teen responded with only relatively short answers.
The "I Don't Like" rapper mentioned not having met Kanye West, who remixed his hit single. "I ain't get a chance to meet him yet, my manager had told me Kanye Want wants to get on 'I Don't Like,'" said Keef. "You want him to get on there? I'm like, 'Yeah.' Let's make it happen. I want a hit."
The Chicago rapper revealed that it was his mom that inspired him to pick up the mic. "I started rapping because of her," said Keed. "She was listening to Lil Wayne, Beanie Sigel, all of them."
He added, "It's crazy 'cause she was on just stage with me Saturday and I'm thinking I'm cursing and sh-t...she's standing next to me. I'm think this the same sh-t when I was little [and] she walked in the room and caught me jumping on the bed [rapping] along to Beanie Sigel cursing. I was acting like I was doing a show, I was practicing, ya know?"
Chief Keef plans on dropping a mixtape called Finally Rich before dropping his major label debut.
