UPDATE: CDQ added.

More evidence supporting why a certain Queensbridge rapper’s new album will be one of the year’s best has arrived. Nas is currently on tour in Europe and gave the UK’s BBC Radio 1 the greenlight to premiere “Cherry Wine,” featuring the late Amy Winehouse.

The soulfully lush, Salaam Remi produced number finds Nas dropping bars relating to the search for the perfect mate. “As long as her love for the people is deep rooted and evident, you can be easily recruited your heaven sent/Your smile put me at ease, you woman I need but where is she?,” raps God’s son. Winehouse’s chorus answers with “Where is he? The man who is just like me? Heard he was hiding somewhere I can’t say.”

Winehouse’s song “Me & Mr. Jones” from her 2006 Back To Black album referenced Nas and the rapper appears on “Like Smoke” from her posthumous third album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures.

Life Is Good is in stores July 17th and you can listen to snippets from the entire album here, but make sure you go and cop it, too. Rest In Power Amy Winehouse
