If you didn't already know, President Barack Obama was a big time fan of late HBO series The Wire. Obama has even gone on record to say that his favorite character in the Baltimore based drama/crime series was "Omar Little," as portrayed by Michael K. Williams. So it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that a fundraiser for the POTUS in Martha's Vineyard on August 15th will be hosted by cast members of The Wire.
Sunlight Foundation's reports that the event will be held at the home of Judy and Ron Davenport, while tickets will cost between $500 and $2,500. Sorry, but as of right now Barack Obama will not be attending the event, whose proceeds will go to the Obama Victory Fund. No word on exactly who from the cast will be in attendance.
As a testament to the show's popularity, a hilarious Lego version of The Wire recently hit the Internet. Snoop and Bodie should get invites, just saying.
Will you be voting for Barack Obama this November? You do plan on voting, right?
