Rapsody speaks on the other side of the game on “Believe Me,” the first official single from her forthcoming album, The Idea of Beautiful. Lines like “Lauryn ain’t crazy, just don’t know what she been through,” show the JAMLA MC’s malcontent with the music industry. And no, Rapsody doesn’t sound like a mad rapper. Instead she gives up-and-coming MCs a precautionary tale of sorts with the wisdom of an artist who’s seen the dark side of the industry.

The 9th Wonder-produced “Believe Me” is the second leak from The Idea of Beautiful, which is set to release August 28. With a few quality projects already under her belt, it’ll be exciting to see what else the North Carolina MC has under her sleeve this time.
