Warren Sapp Doesn't Believe "Ochocinco" Head-Butted Wife
The public may never know the full story of what led to Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson's arrest for alleged domestic violence, but Warren Sapp has offered up his theory.
The former football player told the Miami Times that Johnson's reality-star wife, Evelyn Lozada, is to blame for the entire incident. "Come on, tell me the first and last name of a brother who head-butted someone," he said, when asked if the Miami Dolphins used the incident to kick Johnson off the team.
According to Sapp the idea that Johnson would be so violent is pretty much preposterous. "When is the last time one of your homeboys called you and told you, 'Let me tell you about this fight at the club last night where this guy and his girlfriend were walking by and he turned around and head -butted the girl.' Never."
In Sapp's view, Johnson essentially took the fall for Lozada, who has a history of violent outbreaks, which have been captured on Basketball Wives. "He's taking the rap for it," Sapp continued. "We don't do that. She did it. That's a woman that is going to depend on her beauty for the rest of her life to open any door she wants to walk through, and she is going to do what to her forehead? I'm done. [Johnson] is a bunch of fun and I am sorry this had to happen to him."
Johnson was held on $2,500 for reportedly attacking his wife of only one month, following a verbal altercation. Lozada was taken to the hospital for her wounds, and filed for divorce days later. The couple's reality show was also canned.
For his part, Johnson released a statement apologizing, and stating that he still loves Lozada.
