The head-butting incident that left Evelyn Lozada with stitches, wasn't the first time that things became physical with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Lozada participated in a two-part interview with Iyanlya Vanzant for her show on the OWN Network over the weekend, the second installment of which occurred after the alleged attack.
Vanzant— who originally traveled to the Miami home that Lozada shared with Johnson, four weeks before the incident— appeared to have little faith in the relationship. She questioned why Johnson decided not to be around for the interview, and inquired about his fidelity. In their most recent sit-down, the self-help guru asked if Johnson had been abusive more than once. “I don't want to get into detail,” Lozada replied through tears. “That's hard for me to talk about. You know why? Because I still speak to his daughter and kids.”
A source close to the reality star told Radar Online that Johnson was abusive since the “beginning of their relationship,” and was unhappy with her “party lifestyle.”
The Basketball Wives star has been seen fighting on the reality show several times, and admitted to being hurt by claims that she instigated the incident with Johnson. “That's what hurts the most,” she said. “That people associate me on Basketball Wives with this situation and make it that that justifies his actions.”
Johnson initially refused to sign divorce papers, but later filed his own documents, making an official step to end the union.
