SNL (Awesomely) Spoofs 2nd Presidential Debate [VIDEO]
Saturday Night Live was on point during last night’s episode, hosted by Bruno Mars. The sketch comedy show opened with an utterly amazing spoof of the second presidential debate.
Making fun of reports that CNN moderator Candy Crowley played favorites during the verbal match-up between President Obama and Mitt Romney, the piece hit every nail on the head.
From the moments where it appeared that the two candidates were going to come to blows, to Romney’s five point plan, SNL touched on it all.
Among the most hilarious quips was the question on Libya in which the Republican candidate claimed that the president failed to classify the Benghazi strike as a “terrorist acts.” During the actual debate Crowley discredited Romney’s allegations, and the SNL sketch showed the former governor pleading with the moderator not to make him look bad. “Candy no, no, no! Candy c’mon! Candy please!” he said, as Obama brushed the dirt off his shoulder.
There was even a scene where Tagg Romney pretended to protect his father by asking to fight the president, plus several examples of Obama’s suave disposition with everyone from audience members to Crowley herself. Pure comedic gold.
