Cable Provider Offers Anti-Obama Film For Free In Swing States

The controversial film Obama’s America 2016 has made millions in theaters, but one cable provider wants to make sure that voters in swing states see the film free of charge.

Armstrong Cable, which runs service in six states including Pennsylvania and Ohio, is airing the film possibly in an attempt to sway votes away from President Obama, but according to the company the timing is merely a coincidence. “This is the first time the cable provider has offered such a deal for a recently released film” an executive at the company said, noting that they will offer a free newly released movie every month to promote use of their On Demand feature.

Despite claims that the choice is not partisan based, Armstrong’s chairman of the board, is a supporter of Mitt Romney, and donated $30,000 to the Republican nominee’s campaign, days before the film was offered to customers.

With Ohio being a pivotal state in the election, both candidates have headed out on a campaigning blitz in the final days before Nov. 6. Obama and Romney have the likes of Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Iowa, and Nevada on their radar.

While Obama is winning Ohio, his lead is narrow, and could potentially change in the 13 days until election day.
