In times of distress, people tend to turn to comedy to make them feel better. That’s why it should come as no surprise that Hurricane Sandy has already opened a Twitter account.

The storm, pegged to cause tons of damage to the East Coast, after wreaking havoc on Caribbean countries, joined the social networking site to trash everything from the fast food restaurants she’s destroyed, to Mitt Romney: “I’ma blow Romney into Canada tho.”

Amassing more than 200,000 followers, the parody account offers a pretty straight forward bio: IM SANDY DA HURRICANE, NOT DA RAT THING FROM SPONGEBOB. #FRANKENSTORM UP IN DIS B-TCH, and is the brain child of comedian named Elijah Daniel, who brands himself as “the white Bill Cosby.”

Since the election is only a week away, Romney has garnered his own hurricane-inspired Twitter account called Mitt’s Storm Tips. Making fun of the Republican candidate’s wealth, the account offers advice only relevant to rich people, like “I would check in on my neighbors, but the closest one is six miles away,” and “Please tag your tips with #MittStormTips so my butler can find and sort them.”

There’s also lots of slams against the former governor’s campaign shortcoming, like the “five-point plan” which he introduced during the presidential debate. “I have a five point plan to get us through this hurricane, and I will give you all the details next week.”

In all seriousness, the storm—which has just been downgraded to from hurricane status— is expected to pack a punch, so here’s hoping the East Coast can stay safe.
