Madonna foolishly thought her fans in New Orleans came to hear a political rant, and she was wrong.

The “Material Girl” told the crowd during her MDNA tour Saturday (Oct. 27) to vote for President Obama and they responded by littering her with boos.

“I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama,” she announced, at which point some audience members walked out of the arena.

Sensing that she may have gone to far, the pop star changed her tune. “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for … Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

The 54-year-old has been known to speak on her love for the president, proclaiming him a “Black Muslim” during another concert, and taking the notion of “having his back” literally, by writing his name on her back.

Madonna is not the only celebrity openly stating her political loyalty. Actors Morgan Freeman, and Samuel L. Jackson have both participated in ads urging Americans to vote for Obama, while the likes of Stacey Dash and Lindsay Lohan have shown allegiance towards opponent, Mitt Romney.

The media has also got involved in endorsing the candidates. The New York Post announced its support for Romney, and the New York Times proclaimed over the weekend that they have chosen to go with the commander in chief.
