A groundskeeper for the Cleveland Browns committed suicide at the team’s facility in Berea, Ohio, Saturday (Dec. 1).

The Cuyahoga County Medical examiner confirmed that they were called to the facility where Eric Eucker’s body was found hanging from a team storage shed.

Spokesman Neal Gulkis, confirmed that the employee, took his own life. “This is a terrible tragedy and our heartfelt condolences go out to Eric’s family,” Gulkis said in a statement.

“Eric was a good friend and colleague, and an outstanding employee. He will be missed by everyone in the Cleveland Browns organization.”

The Browns play the Oakland Raiders at an away game today.

Eucker’s is the latest reported NFL-related suicide, and occurred on the same day as a murder suicide involving Kansas City Chief linebacker Jovan Belcher. The 25-year-old shot and killed his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, before traveling to the team’s stadium and killing himself in front of his coach and general manager.

Although there were likely deeper issues at play, Belcher is said to have shot Perkins after an argument ensued over her coming in late from a Trey Songz concert.
