The nominations for the Grammys are in and it looks like Frank Ocean might just be the man to beat. Music’s golden child, not quit fitting in any specific genre box, earned an impressive six nominations during the announcement ceremony Wednesday (Dec. 5) night.

Taylor Swift, and LL Cool J hosted the live ceremony concert in Nashville airing on CBS.

Ocean earned nods in the coveted Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist categories, and shares the same amount of nominations with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons, Fun., and Black Keys member  Dan Auerbach. In response, Ocean expressed his feelings by  posting the words “wow” and “wtf” on his Tumblr page.

With so much momentum behind his Channel Orange debut, made stronger by an open letter he posted just ahead of the project’s release, the last year has been quite a change for the 25-year-old. Channel Orange was released ahead of schedule and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts, selling 131,000 copies in its first week.

Other notables grabbing recognition include 2 Chainz, Nas, Young Jeezy,  Drake,  Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco, Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa, Miguel, Snoop Dogg, and more.
