The Program Director of Hot 97, Ebro Darden, took a controversial visit to The Combat Jack Show.
The big issue that has sparked this visit started when Brian "B.Dot" Miller of RapRadar confronted Darden on Hot 97 about the music that they play on their station. That debate sprawled into a conversation with Combat Jack when Trinidad James began to get consistent spins on the big station.
"My opinion is that it all has a place and sometimes the pendulum swings out of wack inways you don't like and sometimes it swings into ways that you do like," says Darden of the "ignorant records" that get played on the station. "But to say something isn't Hip-Hop or to act as if you don't enjoy it when it comes on in the club shorty is rubbing on you and you are drinking with your homeboys, that's bulls**t to me."
The two, along with Dallas Penn and DJ Benhameen continued to debate about the place of music and how records are chosen to play on the station. Pretty interesting stuff here. After the jump, get a listen to this nearly hour long discussion and #OccupyHot97.
