Frank Ocean had one amazing year. Before 2012 comes to close, the Odd Future member and soul crooner drops a song called “Wiseman” that was originally intended to appear on the Django Unchained soundtrack.

The “Novacane” singer took to Tumblr, like most of his major announcements, to share the tune. “django was ill without” is the only message that accompanies the song. Ocean also shared an image of the song’s lyrics.

Over electric guitars and swelling synth, the Def Jam artist sings about the many facets of man. Django Unchained director Quentin Tarantino mentioned the song before, saying that he just didn’t have a place for it in the film. “Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it,” Tarantino told FUSE. “I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”

Here it is. But, can someone get Frank a copy of Microsoft Word?

Frank Ocean’s critically acclaimed debut, channel ORANGE, is in stores now. Listen to “Wiseman” below.
