With his new mixtape, Folarin, set to drop at 2pm today, Wale drops a video for “The Blessings” beforehand. The clip also serves as a vehicle for the MMG and Roc Nation rapper (hence why Life + Times got the premiere) to discuss various topics including his come up, his motivation and dealing with industry fakeness.

The rap video portion if an in studio performance of the horn filled, LG produced cut. Before and during lulls in the songs, the DC native interjects with explanations of the lyrics and the candid commentary he is known for.

“Now I’m not trying to say I’m the toughest ni–a in the world. I’m not trying to say I can beat everybody A$$,” says Wale. “All I’m saying is if a ni–a got a problem with Wale, then say my f-cking name. Just say my name. Just let me know it’s on. So we ain’t gotta be fake when we see each other. You might be able to beat the Isht out of me, who knows. I can’t fight, though. But say it. So we know. So we don’t gotta do that industry fake sh-t.”

True indeed, and God bless that man with ambition.
