Those of you eagerly anticipating the sequel of Lupe’s latest effort will have to be easy. Lupe Fiasco says that he is cancelling the release of Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 2.

“Hello. A decision has been made that the project titled “F&L2 Part 2″ will be summarily cancelled for public release in 2013,” Lupe tweeted a short while ago.  “The title/concept for Lupe’s 2013 release will be revealed later this year. The LF twitter will be closed until that time.”

During the listening session for Lupe’s Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1, the Chicago rapper revealed to a select group of journalists that Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 2 was already completed. He also revealed that the album after this would be called Skulls and would be his final album under his Atlantic Records contract. He divulged plans to go independent after he is freed from his contractual obligations to the label.

Lupe recently relinquished his Twitter account a few months ago, but re-opened it to make this announcement. The account has since been closed once again.
