Yesterday, President Obama took his oath in front of Supreme Court Chief Justice, John Roberts, and today is the inauguration.

Braving the frigid weather in Washington D.C., the likes of Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Eva Longoria are all in attendance, alongside political figures including Newt Gingrich, and President Jimmy Carter.

Amid the partisan gap between the Obama administration and the Republican Party, the president vowed that during his second term, he will close the gap. “These arguments we have are a mark of our liberty,” he said during his acceptance speech. “We can never forget that as we speak people in distant nations are risking their lives right now just for a chance to argue about the issues that matter, the chance to cast their ballots like we did today.

“But despite all our differences, most of us share certain hopes for America’s future. We want our kids to grow up in a country where they have access to the best schools and the best teachers.”

The president will give his inaugural speech, commencing with Beyoncé singing the National Anthem during today’s ceremony.
