Tickets for Jay-Z’s forthcoming benefit concert at Carnegie Hall officially went on sale as of 11 a.m., Monday, January 30. Tickets for the two shows are available for purchase for prices ranging from $150 to $2,500 each, and will allow concert goers to partake in a “once in a lifetime experience.”
The concert will benefit the United Way of New York City as well as Hov’s Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. According to the United Way website, the event will raise funds to assist in the fight to eradicate poverty. “Jay-Z takes the stage at the New York landmark to raise dollars that will help fight poverty, boost on-time graduation rates in underserved New York City schools, and put college within reach for low-income students across the five boroughs,” reads a statement on the site. Additionally, high-end box seat tickets are also available for $15,000 and have to be purchased via the United Way.
Last month Jay announced the motivation behind the concerts, and while the ticket prices ar steep, they were likely set in an attempt to draw professionals working in New York City’s financial district. “I want to do my part to make sure everyone has an opportunity,” he explained. “It’s really a shame when someone has drive and really wants to further their education, and they’re unable to because of their financial situation.”
All tickets listed at $500 and above include a donation, while $1,250 tickets include access to an exclusive after-party held at Manhattan’s Hudson Hotel. $1,500 tickets will buy concert goers access to the show as well as an after-party at Jay’s newly renovated 40/40 Club.
Customers can purchase tickets for up to $2,500 each on the Carnegie Hall website and are limited to four tickets per person. Those interested in dropping $15,000 for the cause must contact jayzconcerts@uwnyc.org.
The first of the two-night shows kicks-off Tuesday, February 6 at 8:00 p.m., while the second will be held on February 7, at 9:50 p.m.
