The death of Joey BadA$$' Pro Era crew member Capital STEEZ rocked the underground Hip-Hop nation last month. Although he's been largely mum regarding his partner, Joey B briefly touched on the loss on Sway In The Morning earlier today and confirmed that it was a suicide.

“I've been trying my best. I've been trying not to get too lost in my thoughts and everything,” said Joey Bada$$ after Sway inquired on his head space regarding the incident.  “It truly hurts losing a brother and best friend. It hurts a lot, man.”

Sway dug in to find out the cause of death, to which the Pro Era leader confirmed was caused by a self-inflicted wound. It was clear that the 18-year-old Brooklyn native wasn't entirely comfortable speaking on Capital STEEZ and the circumstances leading up to his decision to end his life. Sway professionally moved on after the “Unorthodox” rapper said that he “usually doesn't do this” but did so out of respect for the host.

It wasn't all somber in the studio with Sway and Heather B, after the veteran female MC asked Bada$$ if he was dating. Showing more of that wisdom well beyond his youth, he admitted he had a “little sunflower” in his life. Gossip aside, Joey Bada$$ is known for the bars and he showed and proved as expected with a blistering freestyle.

Check out the interview and freestyle below.
