A New York woman was pulled over yesterday for not wearing a seat belt and talking on her phone, only to be found with 92 lbs of weed in her possession. Mizzie Artis, of Long Island, was stopped by police at around 6 p.m. driving a 1999 Hyundai, after being followed for a few blocks.

While tailing her, police saw the 27-year-old meet a man with a minivan. He drove away after cops rolled by, as did Artis, unaware that she was being followed. She brought even more attention to herself by not using her turn signal, and running a stop sign. She was eventually pulled over, at which point authorities smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon searching the car, two larges boxes containing the massive load of drugs were found, leading to  Artis’s arrest. Two additional boxes were found in the trunk of the car.

Artis was slapped with criminal possession of marijuana in the first degree, plus a bunch of “vehicle and traffic-law infractions,” for all the things done leading up to being pulled over.

After being arraigned in a Hempstead court yesterday, Artis was  freed on probation.

She is due back in court later this week.
