It's a New Music Cartel assembly on The Mission, a collaborative mixtape from LowKey of YouHeardThatNew.com and Los Angeles Clippers superstar point guard Chris Paul. The project follows in the trail of The Campaign, which released last year and commemorated the Miami Heat capturing the 2012 NBA title.
Standing at 11 tracks, The Mission celebrates All-Star week rather than a championship. A host of artists supported the duo's efforts. Some you will recognize and others that you should definitely get to know. Among the more familiar faces to appear on the project are Future, Young Scooter, Ace Hood, Crooked I, Thurz, Casey Veggies, Problem and Trae Tha Truth.
The mixtape's basketball inspired art was handled by fellow NMC cohort Shake of 2Dope Boyz. Lowkey promises that this won't be the last of his "mixtape hustle," although he gave no spoilers on when to expect the next project. In the mean time, check out The Mission. Fans have already received a preview of what to expect with "I'm Good" by Future and Young Scooter.
