Elliott Wilson’s timing is looking impeccable with this one. Lil Wayne covers the latest issue of RESPECT, the magazine the veteran Hip-Hop journalist helms.

Lil Tunechi has been all over the Hip-Hop news today thanks to the slander he delivered to the NBA, the Miami Heat and most specifically Chris Bosh. During a Beats By Dre sponsored party that closed out NBA All-Star Weekend last night, the “No Worries” rapper took the stage and proceeded to lead the crowd in a “f-ck the NBA” chant, call himself the new Tupac and also announced that he allegedly slept with Bosh’s wife.

We also have yet to mention the current drama the YMCMB rapper is in for a distasteful lyric he dropped about the late Emmett Till on his verse on Future’s “Karate Chop (Remix).” So yeah, Lil Wayne is most definitely in the spotlight. Epic Records, Future’s label, already has apologized and edited the song before its proper release.

As for RESPECT, the feature story is a tribute to Weezy, with the cover line reading it’s a “career retrospective on one of Rap’s greatest artists.” Do you agree or disagree with that title? Let us know in the comments.

Check out a clearer clip of Wayne’s epic rant below and the full magazine cover—Big Sean, Tyler, The Creator, Rick Ross and more also get featured in the photo friendly publication—on the flip. The latest issue of RESPECT is on newsstands March 5th.
