Sen. Marco Rubio is a well documented rap fan, particularly of the late Tupac Shakur. While travelling through Reagan National Airport, the Miami native commented on Lil Wayne’s recent assertions that he is the “new Tupac.”

“There’s only one Tupac,” Rubio told a TMZ reporter/camera man. “Tupac lived in a different time.” The Florida junior senator then actually gave a sound explanation as to why.

” These guys have some message in what they’re saying, but I think they’re largely entertainers,” said Rubio of today’s current crop of rappers. “I think Tupac was more someone that was trying to inform us about what was going on and he did it through entertainment. It’s a different time. They’re all good, though.”

However, Rubio wasn’t up on the late Wu-Tang Clan music. Come on b.

Your remember Marco Rubio, right? He was the guy who delivered the GOP’s rebuttal speech to President Obama’s speech and could fight the urge to take a sip of water on air. Rubio then used the blunder/joke to raise $100,000 for the Reclaim America PAC by sending water bottles bearing his name to whoever donated at least $25.

Hey, hustling is indeed Hip-Hop. Watch Sen. Rubio explain why Weezy ain’t Pac in the video below.
