BET & Hot 97 Present: The Cypher - A Tribute To The Notorious B.I.G. [VIDEO]

New York's Hot 97 and Black Entertainment Television have rounded up the top MCs in the Big Apple to pay homage to the late, great Christopher Wallace.

Mister Cee handles the turntables and spins the instrumental to "Who Shot Ya" as Lil Cease, Joell Ortiz, Maino, Uncle Murda, Fred The Godson, and Joey Bada$$ flex their lyrical muscles while simultaneously paying homage to The Notorious B.I.G.

One of the highlight lines belonged to Joell, “Chris Wallace we miss you, Pop Cristal for Jay he kept BK official, When you bump into Christopher Rios tell em Joell Christopher Rios is repping Puerto Rico.” While the tribute was done with the best of intentions, this comes of just a little awkward with some of the MCs failing to catch the beat as well as some unnecessary pauses in between each rapper.

Mr. Cee, one of the DJs most responsible for discovering Biggie, plays the background throughout the entire video which takes on a different look from the much more familar BET Hip-Hop Awards cyphers.
