Last night, ScHoolboy Q had two consecutively sold out shows at S.O.B.'s in New York City, during which he performed "Yay Yay," the leading single from his forthcoming debut album OxyMoron. The Los Angeles rapper performed the cut in the midst of more familiar songs like "Nightmare On Figg St." and the Mike Will Made It-produced "My Hatin' Joint" from his 2012 project, Habits & Contradictions.

As the hazy beat played in the background, Q admitted, "This only my second time performing this sh-t. We gonna turn up." From there, attendees were captivated by the combination of Boi-1da and The Maven Boy's hypnotic production and Quincy's catchy, dope dealer inspired chorus, despite many not being very familiar with the record.

There's a good chance that will change sooner than later, considering the track's potential to do well on radio. "Yay Yay" is actually a solid preview of ScHoolboy Quincy's lofty expectations for his OxyMoron LP. In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Q spoke on reveling in the pressure to create an album that's as good or better than TDE cohort Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city.

"What I look like putting out a album that was alright after GKMC, and everybody done gave it these high rating. I'd look so stupid. I'm trying to kill my career right there, you know? So I'm just taking my time and making sure it's right, which it is coming out right and it's almost done."

With that understanding, we'll see what ScHoolboy Q does soon enough. See the footage from the performance below.
