Janelle Monáe graced the stage on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, where she paid tribute to late, great Rock legend Jimi Hendrix by performing his classic Axis: Bold as Love song, “Little Wing.” She was backed by house band The Roots and her guitarist Kellindo Parker, who gave a hell of a Hendrix impression.

Monáe’s intimate performance commemorated the release of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s posthumous album, People, Hell and Angels, which happens to be a compilation of some of his previously unreleased works. The 12-song project recently debuted at the number two spot on the Billboard charts.

Fans can see more of Monáe, Parker, and the rest of her band at this year’s Coachella Festival in Indio, California. As far as new music goes, The ArchAndroid singer is said to be hard at work on her forthcoming album The Electric Lady, which will hopefully release sometime this year.
