Naming Jay-Z executive producer of the soundtrack to the forthcoming film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby seemed like a racy decision to some fans of the American classic. You finally have a chance to judge for yourself, as we receive the first official offering from the project with “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got).”

Fergie, Q-Tip, and producer GoonRock join forces on the high energy dance track, built on the former Black Eyed Peas singer’s pop sentiments.

Many will disagree with the chorus, which chants “A little party never killed nobody,” and if this has anything to do with The Great Gatsby. Sonically, the record definitely has the potential to make waves on the pop charts.

The Queens MC assists with a quick verse over GoonRock’s wailing synths, adding to the party effect with lines like “I have a stout reputation of keeping it hot.”

The Great Gatsby soundtrack will also feature Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Andre 3000, Gotye, Florence + The Machine, and more. Listen to the first leak below, and let us know how if you dig it in the comments.
