President Obama delivered remarks on the tragic Boston marathon bombing believed to have taken at least two lives Monday. Addressing the nation from the Brady Press Briefing Room the president vowed to do whatever it takes to address the situation.

“We still do not know who did this or why,” he said. “But make no mistake, we will get to the bottom of this, and we will find out who did this, we’ll find out why they did this.”

Taking no questions from the press, Obama steered clear of using the term “terrorist attack,” although sources told Reuters that the incident will be treated as such. “Any event with multiple explosive devices – as this appears to be – is clearly an act of terror, and will be approached as an act of terror,” a White House official confirmed. “However, we don’t yet know who carried out this attack, and a thorough investigation will have to determine whether it was planned and carried out by a terrorist group, foreign or domestic.”

Authorities on both the local and federal level have been dispersed to investigate the matter.

No suspect have been confirmed, but the New York Post prematurely reported that the person responsible is a 20-year-old “Saudi National.” The Post said that the suspect is being detained at a Boston hospital, and was captured within two hours of the incident.

The two explosions erupted near the finish line of the Boston marathon, while a third occurred at JFK Library, roughly an hour later.

Of the two people confirmed dead, one victim is said to be an 8-year-old child.
