Fresh off the announcement that he signed to Roc Nation earlier this week, DJ Mustard is dropping details on the new deal. The Southern California producer spoke with Vibe.com about joining Jay-Z’s roster, and teaming with Rihanna.

Mustard revealed that the Roc Nation situation was in the works for a while. “My lawyer had been in talks with Jay Brown from Roc Nation for a long time,” he said. “But I wasn’t really rushing into getting a manager because I’ve always moved on my own. Roc brings something new to the table, though. Things I can’t do on my own.”

Now that’s he a member of The Roc, Mustard has no plans of switching up his signature style. “Nobody can’t change me. I’m a firm believer in sticking to my guns. I got where I am because of what I do, not what they want me to do. It’s just about getting bigger and better opportunities.”

As for Rihanna, the “I’m Different” producer will link with the Bajan beauty after her Diamonds World tour. In addition to continuing to craft hits that rap fans can’t get enough of, Mustard will be dropping a mixtape on June 3.
