Thursday, Mac Miller made a public service announcement via UStream, where he formally announced that his second LP Watching Movies With the Sound Off will release June 18.

Fans have anxiously awaited the follow up to Miller’s successful 2011 proper debut Blue Slide Park, but all good things come with time. In this case, it’s been a long road filled with ups, downs, and unprecedented lawsuits for the Pittsburgh native. Fortunately, those experiences aided his growth as a MC and fueled in interests in production, which he’s displayed in influx recently under the moniker Larry Fisherman.

Miller reaffirmed the news after tweeting “Watching Movies With The Sound Off: June 18th.” Flying Lotus-produced single “S.D.S.” is the first official offering from his forthcoming album.

Another G.O.O.D. rapper in Kanye West ambiguously tweeted June 18, which was thought to be the release date for his sixth studio project. Those reports have since been dismissed. Nevertheless, Miller and Fabolous both drop their LPs that day, while the world will be on watch for something special from Yeezy. We’d say June 18 may be noteworthy for Hip-Hop.
