Just six days before his debut album hits stores, French Montana liberates another single from Excuse My French called “The Gifted.” With the assistances of The Weeknd, the Bronx rapper‘s details the ups and downs of life in the limelight.

Ambient chords echoe as the House Of Balloons singer chants, “I’m gifted when I’m faded. I’m faded all the time/ ‘Cause I know that’s when they love. They love me when I’m high.” What initially sounds like a typical drug melody becomes much more thought provoking with the powerful closing statement “When they love me I get money.”

Montana shares his confidant’s sentiments of confliction and speaks on how things like marriage seem to be intangible feats in a world filled with groupies, fast money, and other temptations.

The “Pop That” rapper steps out his comfort zone on a song that is sonically catered to The Weeknd’s sound. “The Gifted” doesn’t necessarily cater to radio, but Montana will be moving forward full force to promote the cut. A video is said to be forthcoming.
